FOOD RELIEF PROGRAM

Initially developed as relief for orphans and elderly people, our food program has evolved exponentially as the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on movement have only amplified the struggle that many families face in getting enough to eat each day. Our initiative offers vulnerable community members consistent and reliable access to safe, nutritious food using four determinant components:

  • Ensure adequate and stable supply of safe and nutritious food
  • Enhance the purchasing power of vulnerable community members for increased food accessibility, and
  • Guarantee adequate nutrition for all, especially women and children.

Based on results achieved during the emergency response phase of our current food distribution, households are provided with emergency food or vouchers they can redeem at local markets, and at least 600 families and individuals access our food pantry each month.

Wadi Kaja organization also extends its distribution of food supplies and other humanitarian assistance to orphans, refugees, and elderly people overseas: a refugee camp in Sidoarjo, Jemundo, Indonesia.
