Mental Health and Wellbeing Awareness

MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING AWARENESS

As more than 80 % of our core clients are refugees who have experienced a lot of challenges including mental and well-being, we partner with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), two mainstream mental health and wellness service providers, who by integrating health and social care, provide services that aid in long-term wellness including housing, employment, community connections and so much more. We also partner with community-based who use cultural and linguistic approaches to support our clients in all aspects of their well-being: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Our partners play a crucial role in helping our clients develop coping skills, access community resources, and maintain stability. They also provide support to people facing complex mental and physical health challenges, addictions, dementia, homelessness, or risk of homelessness. Services include mental health counselling, case management, crisis support, psycho-geriatric support, and housing for youth, adults, and seniors.

At Wadi-Kaja Organization for Refugees and Immigrants, we strongly believe that good mental health is essential to realize one’s full potential and feel safe and secure.
