The women’s empowerment program is made up of three main areas:
The objective of our initiative is to address the roots of gender-based violence through personal development and empowerment of women through activities that provide coaching and support for the victims to enable them to rise above their past challenges and forge ahead to achieve success and take on leadership roles. These activities include group peer support opportunities, one-on-one and group mentoring sessions, life coaching, and financial literacy. We are anticipating adding training on Third Party Risk Management, a fast-growing field in Information Technology, to increase the women’s skill set, and expose them to opportunities for jobs in IT due to the high in-demand skills.
We are committed to investing in empowering women in building their skills, economic development, and advocacy, promoting cultural diversity, and gender equality, aiding families to overcome, poverty, and improving community accessibility through programs and services. So, our program seeks to empower these women to become financially and economically independent as experience has taught us that victims with the best outcomes are those who eventually become economically independent.
Our endeavours help women acquire skills that equip them with the knowledge to develop income-generating activities to sustain themselves and their families and thus allow moving from abusive situations to self-sufficiency. It also opens avenues to knowledge in Information technology (IT) for these women and thus offers them additional ways to well-paid employment in a fast-growing field in the Information Technology sector. Thus our initiative helps women rise above their past challenges and pave ways ahead to achieve success and take on leadership roles.
So, emphasis is placed on supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged women to participate socially and economically through local community-driven solutions that build self-reliance and empowerment.
Other areas of empowering women include arts and crafts groups, lunch and learn, technical and cognitive skills training, stress coping mechanism training, financial literacy, office skills training, and communication workshops.
